I keep thinking back to this day. Rafa and I went to South Dakota for him to participate in a race and since I was working remotely, we made sure our Airbnb had Wi-Fi i. Funny thing was, there was a huge storm the night before, we saw it on our six hour drive to the city. When we got to the Airbnb the Wi-Fi wasn’t working so the next morning we had to drive to the nearest Starbucks so that I could bum off of their Wi-Fi. It was at the Tin Lizzie casino and Rafa and I were super annoyed and irritated about it but now that I think back, I liked it. I was sitting by the window and it was the first time I heard Strangers In The Night by Frank Sinatra. Granted, I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that classic song some other time before in my life, but it was the first time I was really listening. It was raining and it smelled like coffee and that song was playing in the background and I was in a random city in an even more random state “working”. I was working though, doing accounting stuff, but I think my mind keeps going back to that moment because that’s what I want. To “work” anywhere, and to be able to get up and leave at any given time. Even though I was glued to that Starbucks for the Wi-Fi, I felt free.
